What if a few small changes could transform family life within a Victorian terrace house? For a young couple wanting to enhance their family's experience in South East London, this is exactly what they were seeking to achieve.

Our task was to reimagine their home, ensuring it not only met the practical needs of a growing family but also to elevate their everyday experience. The result is a harmonious blend of tradition and contemporary design, where every corner tells a story of transformation.

With a small ground floor extension and a loft conversion, the design response both increased the internal area of the house and brought natural light deep into the plan, creating an inviting atmosphere throughout. The rear extension, with its chamfered opening, pays homage to the Victorian bay window, providing a sheltered connection between the living room and the garden.

The interior design features bespoke timber joinery which provides visual warmth and creates unexpected transitions between the old and new fabric. The result is a bright and airy family kitchen/living space, once a formally dark area, now transformed into the heart of the home.
